Statia Governor Francis and Special Envoy Rijna to speak at major sustainability summit

BASSTERRE, St. Kitts & Nevis – The 2025 Global Sustainable Islands Summit (GSIS), hosted by St Kitts & Nevis in partnership with Island Innovation, will feature high-level speakers, including Sint Eustatius Island Governor Alida Francis and Edison Rijna, Special Envoy for the BES islands.

The summit, set for May 27-29 in Frigate Bay, brings island leaders together to showcase innovative solutions for sustainability and climate resilience. Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew emphasized the importance of global collaboration, inviting world leaders to join discussions aimed at replicating successful island strategies.

The event includes several forums designed to empower island communities in climate action and sustainability.
